Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL., Oct. 6, 2002 - The Prinect Internet Portal, available next month from Heidelberg, takes advantage of technologies from four leading companies to enable a robust new e-commerce tool for printers in the U.S. The Prinect Internet Portal helps print businesses improve service and strengthen relationships with their customers online by enabling an array of e-services, from remote proofing and online requests for printing quotes and orders, to job management and secure file transfer. (See separate release.) To achieve this state-of-the-art e-commerce solution for its customers, Heidelberg combined its commercial printing expertise and powerful brand with the technology strengths of three world-class companies. - IBM Business Consulting Services (www.ibm.com) helped manage the development schedule and develop ASP software — allowing Heidelberg to get its solution to market quickly without hiring a large internal staff. - RealTimeImage (www.realtimeimage.com) - whose RealTimeProof product enables real-time viewing of color separations, automatic tracking of comments and approvals, and pixel-level resolution - gives Heidelberg customers the highest-quality Internet remote-proofing service available. - Sun Microsystems, Inc. (www.sun.com) uses its Sun ONE software to provide a flexible, scaleable architecture to quickly respond to customers' needs. "These three innovative companies were instrumental in providing the complementary expertise necessary to help us drive this e-portal solution to market," said Wolfgang Pfizenmaier, president of Heidelberg’s Digital Solution Center. "By combining our respective companies’ technological know-how, we’ve delivered a state-of-the-art e-commerce product to help our customers succeed – both in building their businesses and in customer relationships." Heidelberg and its partners will demonstrate the new Prinect Internet Portal in Heidelberg’s booth at Graph Expo on Monday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. In addition to the e-portal’s demonstration, the event will include presentations by each of the partners.
