Global Graphics featured by Canon, Mitsubishi and Ultimate Technographics
Press release from the issuing company
-Color workflow solution designed for the Canon imagePROGRAF series makes it easy to produce color-accurate digital proofs and prints "out of the box"
Cambridge, UK; October 4, 2002 -- GlobalColor Solution, Global Graphics’ comprehensive new color workflow solution that makes it easy for document originators and even novice operators of wide-format color printers to produce color-accurate digital proofs and prints "out of the box," is being featured at Graph Expo in Chicago next week by three exhibitors: Canon U.S.A., Mitsubishi Imaging, and Ultimate Technographics.
-In the Canon U.S.A. booth (3272), GlobalColor Solution is being demonstrated driving a Canon imagePROGRAF W7200 36" large format color printer.
-Mitsubishi Imaging (Booth 3856) is showing GlobalColor Solution paired with the Canon imagePROGRAF W7200 large format printer.
-Ultimate Technographics (Booth 5045) is also featuring GlobalColor Solution as the front-end for the 36" Canon imagePROGRAF W7200.
GlobalColor Solution is a PDF-oriented workflow bundle designed initially to work with the new line of imagePROGRAF printers launched last month by Canon U.S.A. — the Canon W2200 13" x 19" graphic color printer, and the W7250 24" and W7200 36" large format color printers.
GlobalColor Solution combines an authentic Harlequin RIP and built-in color management with Jaws PDF creation and editing capabilities and MaxWorkFlow management tools. When paired with a Canon imagePROGRAF printer, this tightly integrated client/server workflow package forms a sophisticated yet affordable turnkey workflow solution designed to meet the needs of both document originators and printing professionals for color-accurate digital proofs.
GlobalColor Solution also provides a versatile printing solution for Point-of-Purchase displays, back-lit projections, transfers, banners, billboards, canvas, signs and photographic reproductions of images for the professional markets.
Extraordinary results are achieved by using superior Canon printing engines, media and ink with GlobalColor Solution automated color management through the use of output profiles for target proofing media and resolution, press profiles for most printing color standards, and automated calibration tools.
Using a simple GUI interface, GlobalColor Solution allows document originators to create and edit PDF files or print directly to the printer from native applications, and to control all the features and functionality of the printer from the client application or the PDF job submission tool. It can accept files submitted simultaneously from multiple users in PostScript, TIFF, PDF or EPS formats, even with different job requirements.
With little or no set-up, users can drag-and-drop files to hot folders on their desktop, soft proof the PDF output, and prioritize the jobs being sent to proof or print. A job management queuer ensures proper output through automatic media detection, and also provides job status, hold/release, composite preview and reprocess capabilities, as well as letting users specify crop quantity, among other functions. Jobs are automatically held in queue if the target output media is not loaded in the device.
Color management capabilities include pre-configured color setups and ICC output profiles for target proofing media and resolution, ICC press profiles for most printing color standards, and automated calibration tools that make it easy for the user to create their own profiles to ensure optimal quality color from their color printer.
