The new model broadens the Company's Segment 6 print offerings, with the highest speed, monthly volume, and document finishing capabilities available under the Canon brand. The imageRUNNER Pro 150+ will be on display at the Graph Expo event in Chicago's McCormick Place October 6 - 9 in the Canon Booth (#3272). "Canon's focus on entering and gaining market share in production-level printing over the past two years has clearly been successful through a number of imageRUNNER products," said Tod Pike, senior vice president of Marketing at Canon U.S.A. "The imageRUNNER Pro 150+ will further our brand presence with highly scalable capabilities that meet the needs of a very discerning customer base." Designed to offer high productivity and reliability with digital workflows, the imageRUNNER Pro 150+ is well suited for data center, financial, education, manufacturing, health care, and graphic arts applications. Personalized, or custom, high-impact documents from direct mailings to bound books, billings, newsletters and technical manuals, can be created through the device's robust system software and print controller that maintains the engine's rated speed of up to 150 ppm*, even when most optional accessories and equipment are attached. All imageRUNNER Pro 150+ printers include the following base configuration: * 150 ppm, 600 x 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution digital print engine using toner with small particle developer * Sun SPARC System Controller with 512 MB RAM for job spooling to the print engine * (2 x 4,000) sheet, fully-adjustable, paper trays * Finisher supporting single and multi-position stapling * Automatic trayless duplexing for two-sided document production * Touch screen operator control interface With a monthly duty cycle rating of 3 to 5 million impressions**, the imageRUNNER Pro 150+ features a short, straight paper path that can handle up to 110 lb. index stock. Automatic duplexing assures high throughput productivity and conservation of supplies. Standard support of 8,000 sheets in six drawers can be expanded with an optional, 4,000-sheet post-process inserter, bringing total online capacity to 12,000 sheets. The imageRUNNER Pro 150+ is also compatible with third party roll feed devices, for long, specialized print jobs such as with financial, insurance, or medical records. For high-end document finishing, a standard, 3,000-sheet finisher imposes staples from a wire spool whose length is adjusted for stack thickness, and an optional booklet maker folds, trims and saddle-stitches pages. A stacker, puncher, and perfect binder are also optional. In networked configurations, the imageRUNNER Pro 150+ offers multiple protocol support for IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, and EtherTalk, with intuitive drivers for Microsoft Windows environments supporting Adobe PostScript 3, PCL6, PDF and TIFF printing. Duplicator versions of the imageRUNNER Pro 150+ require the installation of the optional imageSCANNER 65 for hard copy reproduction. Software to perform hard copy reproduction using the imageSCANNER 65 is included as standard. The base imageRUNNER Pro 150+ engine and print controller will be available from authorized Canon U.S.A. dealers and Canon Business Solutions locations in November 2002, with a suggested retail price of $374,000.
