Resco Sees Significant Improvements in Cost Tracking With Printcafe PSI

Press release from the issuing company

Printcafe Print Management System Helps Wisconsin Printer to Stay Profitable PITTSBURGH, PA (October 3, 2002) – Printcafe Software, Inc. [NASDAQ: PCAF], the operating system for print, today announced that Resco Print Group Inc., a mid- sized commercial printer in Wisconsin, has significantly improved its ability to track and control costs for each printing job it processes after implementing Printcafe’s PSI print management system. "We chose PSI because it offered us the greatest range of capabilities for our size of print operation," said John Knutson, Owner and General Manager at Resco Print Group (RPG). "PSI has delivered everything we expected and we have seen remarkable progress in being able to track the individual profit percentage that each job produces. This is important information as it means we can track which jobs are more profitable for our plant and market accordingly." Printcafe's print management systems, including PSI, Logic and Hagen, serve as the foundation of a printer's business information system. Add-on modules, such as Printcafe PrintFlow(TM) for dynamic scheduling, Printcafe Auto-Count for shop floor data collection and Printcafe PrinterSite, extend the information network to the shop floor and to the sales force. "PSI is the ideal system for growing printers such as RPG because it helps to manage virtually every aspect of a printer's business," said Warren Tanabe, Printcafe PSI Product Manager. "PSI’s extensive collection of reports provides RPG with information they need to stay profitable and ahead of the game." In addition, RPG is currently implementing Customer Connect, one of three PrinterSite solutions from Printcafe. Customer Connect is a set of online tools integrated with PSI to enable customers to specify and manage jobs, and collaborate online. "Our administrative staff spend a lot of time dealing with customer inquiries and tracking orders," continued Knutson. "If we can provide our customers with the option of being able to track their own orders via the Internet, we are offering them a better service, providing transparency in their dealings with us and we make time-savings internally by making our own staff more productive." About Resco Print Group Inc. (www.rpgsolutions.com) John Knutson and Eric Strand founded Resco Print Group (RPG) in 1988 with three employees. As the customer base, sales and needs of the company began to grow, RPG moved into a much larger manufacturing space in 1997. Today RPG employs 35 people and specializes in art and design, printing and finishing, promotional products, warehousing, storage and fulfilment.
