Press release from the issuing company

MAHWAH, N.J., Aug. 19 -- Sharp Electronics Corp. today introduced the AR-810 IMAGER Advanced Digital Document System, among the speediest and most powerful models in its class.  The 81-ppm AR-810 offers a robust feature set, flexible finishing options and new Sharp-developed software utilities, designed to meet the needs of today's evolving, fast-paced workgroups and office environments. The AR-810 offers steadfast reliability as well as 600 x 2400 dpi resolution engine speed and 32 MB copier memory with a 10GB hard drive.  The AR-810's first-time copy speed is a mere 3.2 seconds, and can handle a maximum monthly volume of one half million impressions.  The AR-810 is equipped with two 500-sheet paper drawers and one tandem 2,500-sheet paper drawer, with all paper sources supporting up to 110 lb. index stock.  Additional features include a 160-second warm-up time, 25-400% zoom range, 150 access codes, an optional 4,000-sheet LCT, 100-sheet automatic reversing document feeder and optional post-sheet insertion finisher that can process up to 140 lb. index stock. "The AR-810 is one of the fastest models available, designed to allow our customers to work at peak capacity," said Thomas H. Ellson, director of marketing, Network Office Systems Group (NOSG).  "Sharp's commitment to reliability and our industry-leading technology make the AR-810 a valuable workhorse for today's office professional." The AR-810's advanced network connectivity allows unprecedented document control through its optional EFI Fiery print controller.  The 500 Mhz print controller option can turn the AR-810 into a high-speed network office printer/scanner, ideal for central reproduction departments and high-volume office environments.  The optional print controller will support Sharp Printer Administration Utility, Printer Status Monitor and Sharpdesk Document Management software (optional print hard drive and scan accelerator board required), and offers a variety of network client support.  Multi-position stapling and saddle-stitch control, automatic duplexing, page enlargement/reduction, tab printing, confidential/secure (PIN) printing, watermarking and many other advanced features can be accessed directly through the standard PCL XL driver. The AR-810 is designed with an easy-to-read touch-screen control panel, with features including annotation, auto job start, automatic magnification selection, automatic paper selection, automatic sort mode, page numbering, magazine sort and a 4-job memory.  The AR-810's high image quality results from its 600 x 2400 dpi resolution, 256-level grayscale, photo mode, automatic exposure control and automatic process control. The AR-810 IMAGER Advanced Digital Document System is available through Sharp's authorized network of nationwide dealers, who provide service and support for the full line of Sharp business digital document systems throughout the U.S.  The AR-810's suggested list price is $30,950.
