GMG ColorProof Scores Extraordinary Results at the Digital Proof Forum

Press release from the issuing company

TUEBINGEN, GERMANY - August 14, 2002 - In the first ever Digital Proof Forum held recently in Germany, GMG's ColorProof color management system helped two systems score the highest points in a head to head test of digital proofing systems. Over two days, six manufacturers of proofing systems and measurement devices, plus software suppliers, demonstrated the capabilities of their systems using a new standard test form developed specifically for the event. A 13-strong team of independent industry experts judged the results evaluating each proof for a total of 36 features grouped under: color, resolution, duplex/special color, smooth shade and overprint. After this detailed analysis the Fuji Pictro Proof with Fujifilm RIP Server and GMG ColorProof was evaluated as the best system, followed by the Creo Iris 4 Print with GMG ColorProof. The event was organized by BVDM (Bundesverband Druck & Medien) and the European Color Initiative (ECI) at the Bergische University Gesamthoschule in Wuppertal and is set to become an annual forum for the analysis and demonstration of digital proofing techniques. Heiner Mueller, Sales and Marketing Director, GMG, says, "We are delighted with these results. This proves our ability to develop what we feel is exceptional management software namely GMG ColorProof which produces contract proofs from digital printers that are consistent with the European community's standard against which other colorproofing systems are evaluated".
