Fiery GA-1140 First Embedded Controller to Integrate EFI's PrintMe Networks
FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Aug. 5, 2002--Electronics For Imaging, the world leader in software and hardware imaging solutions for network printing, today announced the availability of the Fiery GA-1140 controller for Toshiba's new line of high volume black-and-white digital copiers. The Fiery GA-1140 delivers outstanding speed and performance to Toshiba's e-STUDIO(TM)550, 650, and 810 engines, and marks the first commercial integration of EFI's PrintMe Networks(TM) solution.
Based on EFI's Fiery X3e architecture, the Fiery GA-1140 offers unprecedented speed and features the latest versions of EFI's renowned productivity-enhancing tools for centralized print job management, seamless network connectivity, and variable data printing. Mobile and Internet printing capabilities are also included via EFI's integrated PrintMe(TM) technology, enabling individuals to print documents from any mobile device to any PrintMe-enabled e-STUDIO engine without requiring cables, drivers, or software installation. Toshiba is the first printer manufacturer to offer a PrintMe-ready printer.

The GA-1140 holds the power to drive Toshiba's e-STUDIO engines at rated speed with a 500MHz Intel Pentium III(TM) processor. It includes Fiery NetWise(TM) as a standard feature for seamless connectivity to all popular platforms and networks. The controller comes standard with PCL6 and optional Adobe PostScript 3. Users can also order a 10GB hard disk drive for the GA-1140, which includes Adobe PostScript 3 as well as a variety of workflow enhancement and management features such as:
* EFI Command WorkStation(TM) for easy print job management from one central location and automatic identification of Fiery servers on the network
* Fiery Scan(TM) for easy network scanning and distribution of documents
* Fiery WebTools(TM) for easy job management from any platform via a Java-enabled web browser
* Fiery FreeForm(TM) for simple creation of master templates and variable information for fast and easy variable data printing
In addition, optional Fiery DocBuilder Pro(TM) imposition software can be added for editing and assembling entire documents before RIPping the files.
