Xaar plc Appoints Greg Lockett as Operations & Quality Manager

Press release from the issuing company

Aug. 5, 2002 -- Leading inkjet technology company, Xaar plc, has strengthened its operations and quality management team with the appointment of Greg Lockett as Operations and Quality Manager. Greg will be primarily based at Xaar’s head office in Cambridge, UK where he will be responsible for maximising the efficiencies of the company’s production and supply chain operations, as well as ensuring the compliance of quality processes. "As the demand for our inkjet printhead technology continues to increase, we recognise the need to continually improve our operational processes and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction", comments Ian Dinwoodie, Operations Director of Xaar plc. "The addition of Greg to the team, with his wealth of experience, will enable Xaar to place an even greater emphasis on the role of proactively supporting its OEM customers with high quality products and customer service". Quality assurance is an area already taken very seriously by Xaar, following its award of the ISO 9001 certificate last year to the company’s advanced, high capacity manufacturing facility in Stockholm, Sweden. Greg will strengthen this spotlight on manufacturing excellence, particularly in light of the recently announced increase in capacity at the plant scheduled for the second half of this year. Before joining Xaar, Greg worked for FujiFilm Electronic Imaging Ltd, premier supplier of graphic arts equipment to the pre-press industry. As Deputy Director of Manufacturing he was accountable for the day-to-day operations at the company’s Peterborough manufacturing site, one of two sites employing some 395 employees and commanding an annual turnover in excess of £50 million. Prior to this, Greg was Operations Manager at Deltron Components Ltd, manufacturer of audio connectors, supplying many of the premier catalogue companies such as RS Components, Farnell and E.S.C. In this role he was responsible for the operation of its London site, which included engineering, purchasing, planning, quality, site services, production and despatch. Greg has also worked as Operations Manager for C-Audio, part of the Harman International Industries Group, and as Production Manager for Soundcraft Electronics.
