Eagle Systems Cold Foil Gains Major Endorsement from Cast & Cure Leader Breit Technologies

Press release from the issuing company

Demand for Cast & Cure Effects at Fever Pitch and Rising as Eagle and Breit Overcome Concerns, Simplify Implementation and Increase Sustainability

Overland Park, Kan. – Eagle Systems, Inc., a U.S.-based developer and manufacturer of foil enhancement equipment, is pleased to announce a public endorsement of their cold foil technology and systems by Breit Technologies. Known as the only American manufacturer of casting films, in less than two decades Breit has also grown to be the leading global supplier.

“When we first started Breit in 2005, Cast & Cure required acquiring films from as far away as China. The process was costly, time demanding and often frustrating,” notes Co-Founder Tim Cain. “We’ve simplified the process, cut turnaround time significantly and really worked with service providers and brand owners to help them better understand how Cast & Cure can benefit them in both packaging and promotions.”

Has it worked? Breit now controls the majority of the American market, distributes films into over 35 countries, and works with just about every major CPG globally (including Procter & Gamble, Colgate, Gillette, General Mills and Crest). “Already this year, sales are up 40% from last year and 20%+ from pre-pandemic years. By year’s end we suspect we’ll surpass a 50% increase,” adds Cain. “The demand for Cast & Cure is skyrocketing and we don’t believe it’s even close to cresting.”

“As enthusiastic as we are to further educate the market, we’re also eager to partner with the industry’s best. Eagle Systems has clearly established themselves, both in America and abroad. We’ve worked with Mike King and his team for several years now and increasingly appreciate their incomparable passion and dedication to the printing and packaging community. They’re all about quality, productivity and of course sustainability.

“These are boom times, where capturing the increased attention of even 1% can translate to million in sales. Brands are anxious to employ tried and true techniques that really capture eyes on shelves. Yet, they also have to cost justify the process as well. Many of Eagle’s clients are getting over 20 reuses of film, when the industry average is only 12. And with Eagle’s shorter and more direct web path [read less wrinkles and damage], productivity increases while turnaround and costs drop significantly.”

Added Eagle President Mike King, “Over the last year, it seems like every packaging converter and brand owner I talk with is asking about Cast&Cure. From carton and product packaging to more unconventional products such as gift wrap, labels and even balloons, providers are seeking greater image value and impact. We endorse Breit because, while they are easily the recognized leader, they have also revolutionized this market and we’re all clearly reaping the benefits.”

About Cast & Cure

Cast and CureTM (C2TM) is a decorative coating process that integrates “casting” and “curing” techniques to form a consistent high-quality surface that can include ultra-high gloss, matte and holographic finishes on a variety of substrates. This effect can be created in both sheetfed and web-fed (flexo and gravure) environments. C2 is an excellent application for the decorative print market and can also be incorporated with security and anti-counterfeiting measures.

Cast and Cure is also a sustainable process. By using ultraviolet inks and varnishes there are no undesirable and harmful VOC’s. In addition it can make packages more easily recyclable by eliminating the laminated metalized films used in traditional holographic processes. The most significant benefit is this is all achieved at a fraction of traditional costs.
