Hi this is Frank Romano for WhatTheyThink.com.  Several little things that I’ve discovered that seem to be of interest.  This is an interesting one.  This is a charger for your iPhone that is a book.  It’s a fake book with a little connector on it and then you plug that into the wall and then you put your iPhone on the connector and now you can charge your iPhone with a book.  I don’t know if that’s an oxymoron; charging your electronic device with a book.  I don’t know; there’s something very strange about that.

I saw this very interesting set of images about different kinds of ice cubes that you can get.  You can get them in all different shapes and sizes because they can now make this injectable plastic molding, molds of various kinds.  And you can have them in any shape or size that you desire.

And when I saw this one here, which is the character Pi, 3.14, I thought you know someone’s missing a bet here.  Ice cubes in the form of fonts.  You know you can get Garamond.  You can get the letters of your name.  So you can make these molds that are made out of plastic, they’re very easy to make I understand, so you just have to come up with.  So we can get old metal type or wood type and use that to create the mold and then create a whole series of ice cube trays, you know Garamond, Baskerville, Helvetica; it’s a whole new market as far as I can tell.  No one’s thought about this.  And then it would be truly cold type.

The advocate to levy surcharge on film products; wait a minute, there are still film products?  There are still people out there using film?  What’s that?

I don’t blame them by the way. The cost of film has gone up 60% over the last year and then before that it went up 80%.  It says they can no longer absorb the ongoing increase in prices.  You mean they already absorbed all that before they decided to raise the price.  They should have done that long before now. I don’t understand why people would still be using film.  We’re in the digital age today with computer to play, digital printing, using inkjet or toner.  We’re in a new world.  And anyone who’s still using film deserves to pay a surcharge because the world has changed, and I think it’s about time they change too.  And that’s my opinion.
