January 2023 printing shipments came in at $6.67 billion, down from December’s $7.01 billion, but above January’s 2022’s $6.21 billion and January 2021’s $6.64 billion, making this the best start to the year since 2020. Now, of course, we know how that went, but at least we’re in good shape should things take a tumble. If our usual seasonality continues, we should expect a drop in February shipments, but March will give us a true reading of what the year will be like for the industry.
