2022 is shaping up to be perhaps the best year for shipments since 2019—and if nothing else, we seem to have returned to the previous seasonality. November 2022 shipments came in at $7.16 billion, down from the year’s high of $7.48 billion in October. This should not be cause for concern, as business always drops in November and December as things slow down for the holidays.

As a result, year-to-date (January to November) shipments for 2022 came in at $76.77 billion, an improvement over 2021’s $75.42 billion. As the song goes, everything can change in a New York minute, but so far shipments data for 2022 has been encouraging and we’re likely to finish better than 2021. Can we carry that through into 2023?
