Dairyland Power Cooperative Selects Transformations Uluro CCM Platform to Streamline Document Processes and Reduce Labor Costs

Press release from the issuing company

www.transfrm.com: Transformations Inc., a software solutions company and developer of the comprehensive customer communications management (CCM) platform, Uluro, announced that Uluro has been selected by Dairyland Power Cooperative, La Crosse, WI, as part of a major upgrade in its Publication Service Department. Dairyland Power provides the wholesale electrical requirements for 24 distribution cooperatives and 17 municipal utilities, serving a total of approximately 600,000 consumers. Dairyland Power Cooperative selected Uluro for its ability to streamline billing processes, reduce associated labor costs and improve overall efficiency.

The Publication Service Department team was facing the challenge of accepting raw data that came in from its utility customers in complex formats, such as XML and PDF. Each different file format required labor-intensive manual coding in order to extract the data needed for customer statements. Uluro was selected for its ability to seamlessly take in the different file formats from the utilities Dairyland Power serves, saving the cooperative time and labor. Additional key drivers in the selection are Uluro’s built-in integration with address cleansing and presort software and the software’s compatibility with newly acquired inkjet printing technology.

“We needed a solution that would meet all our requirements, but as a cooperative, we were also very concerned about cost,” said Kris Sexton, manager, publication services at Dairyland Power. “We looked at several different customer communication software platforms and it was Uluro that checked all the boxes we needed checked. It was the only solution that could integrate with address cleansing and presort software and it was much more affordable than the competitive products we reviewed.”

Strong training and support for implementation was another key factor in Dairyland Power choosing Transformations as its vendor. Uluro was installed in April, shortly after COVID-19 restrictions were put in place. “We wanted on-site training, but the pandemic changed all of that,” Sexton noted. “We ended up having virtual training, which worked better than I expected. After the initial week of training, our fears were put to rest. The Transformations staff is extremely knowledgeable, and their support made my staff feel very comfortable using the Uluro platform.”

Working together, Dairyland staff and Uluro’s customer support team are converting existing data files in preparation for the go-live date later this year. Looking ahead, Sexton said, “Growing the business is our ultimate goal. To do that, we needed to become more efficient and less labor intensive. Uluro is making that happen for us.”

Bill Tidwell, CEO of Transformations, said, “We’re pleased that Uluro is providing Dairyland Power the ability to successfully meet the challenge of migrating to a new platform to achieve its goals. Dairyland Power is an impressive member-focused organization and we are proud to provide a solution that is designed to deliver enhanced efficiency and reduced costs.”
