Release Liner Today and Tomorrow: AWA Conference Evaluates the Industry

Press release from the issuing company

Key release liner markets, application areas, opportunities, and growth are the focus of this year’s AWA Global Release Liner Industry Conference and Exhibition, taking place on 27th and 28th February in Amsterdam. Annually hosting delegates across the industry, the event has previously pinpointed challenges, recorded solutions, and defined opportunities, new end uses, and developing markets over the last twenty years.

As AWA Alexander Watson Associates’ President and CEO Corey Reardon comments: ‘Release liner is surely one of the most diverse materials used in production today. It’s a component critical to the use and performance of pressure-sensitive materials and beyond – in a variety of markets, from advanced electronics to labels, postage stamps, adhesive tapes, and outdoor advertising graphics. This year’s conference program reflects that diversity.’

Conference keynotes
The opening conference keynote presentation comes from Robyn Buma, Vice President, Global Purchasing, for Avery Dennison. She will address the importance of transparency in material sourcing in these complex value chains. Later, innovators in use of recycled fibers ECOR Europe bring their strong focus on recycled composite materials to the attention of the release liner industry, with a keynote presentation from circular economy business development specialist Mike Van Den Hof, on uses for recycled release liner material – which is, indeed a highly-engineered product, and worthy of a second life.

Broad insights
AWA Alexander Watson Associates’ go-to and highly-referenced market data are of course a feature of the program, along with an update on industry M&A and consolidation from Jonathan White of Mazzone & Associates, and panel discussions bringing together top industry executives across the supply chain, delivering more insights.

The formal conference agenda is supported by an extensive tabletop exhibition, which also represents the location for valuable networking opportunities for delegates during program breaks.

Concurrent market-specific sessions
To meet the market-specific interests of delegates and focus on the voice of the customer, the conference program divides into concurrent sessions over the two days, with a series of presentations by experts in the different market segments. On the first afternoon, there is detailed coverage of tape and industrial applications, and of labels and graphic arts; and on the morning of the second day, the hygiene and medical and the composites and electronics markets are explored in depth.

Event sponsors span leading industry players – including Platinum Sponsors Avery Dennison, Elkem, Mondi, and UPM. The full program for the AWA Global Release Liner Industry Conference 2020 is available on the AWA Alexander Watson Associates website, www.awa-bv.com/global-release-liner-conference-and-exhibition-2020, where it is also possible to register online.
