Press release from the issuing company

Industry specialist with engineering expertise hired to oversee MHI’s technology operations.

Norwell, Mass. – Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations (MHI) – the U.S. subsidiary of Maruho Co. Ltd, a Japanese healthcare company with subsidiaries in Europe and the U.S. with global sales of $800 million – has hired engineering professional Benjamin Voelcker as an Applications Engineer. In addition to package design, in this role Mr. Voelcker will handle sales engineering and marketing relations as well as ensure that MHI is capitalizing on industry application trends.

Mr. Voelcker brings considerable application design solution expertise to his new position with MHI. Most recently, he served two years as Applications Engineer for ARC Technology Solutions, which specializes in testing solutions, manufacturing services, torque and assembly tools. Prior to that, he was a Component Engineering Specialist for Bose and, before that, a Mechanical Designer for CDI Engineering Solutions.

MHI focuses on versatile, sensibly priced blister machines. For example, its compact EAGLE-Omni offers a format area of 150x95mm and a forming depth of 30mm (upgrade to 40mm available), making it capable of everything from manual prototyping to fully automated operation. Additional machines in the EAGLE blister machine series include:

EAGLE-Uni, ideal for lab work, packaging development and material testing
EAGLE-Pro, an ideal first production level system
EAGLE-Rx, capable of producing up to 200 blisters/min at a format area of 90x130mm
EAGLE-Max, a high speed, high-volume machine capable of producing up to 600 blisters per minute

“Benjamin’s dedication to finding new and improved solutions for the packaging industry proves that he will be a valuable asset to the MHI team as it continues to further expand in the North American market,” said Tim Saarinen, Chief Operating Officer for MHI. “His ability to optimize and innovate in the packaging applications niche will strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones as well.”

Mr. Volecker earned a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. He recently moved from Milford, NH to Weymouth, MA with his wife, Akiko.
