PIA Membership to Vote on Merger with SGIA

Press release from the issuing company

WhatTheyThink has learned that Printing Industries of America members were sent an email that the association is moving forward with plans to merge with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association.

Over the weekend the PIA national board unanimously approved a resolution to merge PIA with the SGIA. The merger requires members of Printing Industries of America to vote and approve the merger.

Printing Industries of America released the following statement after WhatTheyThink reported on the email sent to PIA members:

In response to media inquiries about the potential merger of Printing Industries of America and the Special Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA), PIA can confirm that its board of directors unanimously passed a resolution to merge with SGIA on November 17, 2019. The merger would not take effect until May 1, 2020 and requires approval from both PIA members and the SGIA Board of Directors. PIA issued proxy ballots this week to its eligible voting members in which they have the opportunity to approve or disapprove the proposed resolution.
