When Venice Came to London: CMYUK–supplied PONGS® Transforms Claridges into a Spellbinding Italian Palazzo Overlooking “The Floating City”

Press release from the issuing company

CMYUK, Shrewsbury – Transforming the famed ballroom at Mayfair’s iconic Claridges hotel into an Italian Palazzo for a Greek couple’s wedding was a piece of cake for special events company Kudos AV.

The company used PONGS® DirectTEX® Softimage Contrast supplied by CMYUK, the UK’s largest independent supplier of wide format printers, cutters and materials, to create stunning, romantic 360 degree Venetian vistas.

London-based Kudos AV is an events production specialist offering everything from bespoke design to installation including visuals, sound, lighting, staging, print and branding. It designed, digitally printed in-house, produced and installed all elements for this spectacular wedding banquet, delighting the bride, groom, their family and friends for the big day.

Kudos AV, managing director, Harry Kataria said, “We have worked with CMYUK for the past four years. It is our preferred supplier for print media in particular textiles, vinyl and flooring. We have an excellent relationship with the company which offers a great service and has amazing product knowledge.”

PONGS® DirectTEX® Softimage Contrast is a premium quality, polyester textile that consistently delivers a flawless viewing experience that features state-of-the-art light diffusion due to its black coated back and smooth white front. Achieving perfect light diffusion is a supreme discipline setting new standards for even illuminated walls and surfaces. PONGS® Contrast is compatible with sublimation, UV and Latex ink technologies.

Kataria said: “We choose to use this PONGS® Contrast textile because it has great colour reproduction, and importantly it is very malleable – allowing us to stretch and fix it to structures without distorting the printed imagery. We heavily use this textile across corporate and private events for backdrops, media walls, set design and staging.”
