Interest in educating those involved in printing books has been extraordinary

Ormond Beach, Fla. – The Book Manufacturers’ Institute (BMI) announced its new event focused on helping production staff of book publishers learn more about the latest in printed book manufacturing, Book Manufacturing Mastered, at the beginning of October. To help get the event off the ground, the event offered several sponsorships. In less than a month since putting out the call for sponsors, Book Manufacturing Mastered has sold all of its available sponsorships for the conference.

Book Manufacturing Mastered will be held February 10–11, 2020, at the New York City Marriott East Side. The event will cover key topic areas, such as pre-press, workflow, finishing, offset and digital processes, paper, distribution, and logistics. The conference is geared toward those new to book printing as well as experienced professionals looking to learn the latest developments and trends in book manufacturing.

Matt Baehr, Executive Director of BMI, said, “The response to this new event has been overwhelming. Printers, suppliers and everyone along the supply chain have shown their interest and support. Publishers have been asking us for this type of program and our members are showing their eagerness to step forward and help.”

The following companies have committed to sponsoring the inaugural event: Neenah Paper, HP, LSC Communications, Pixelle Specialty Solutions, Horizon Paper, LBS, Screen Americas, Canon and Publishers’ Graphics.

Melanie Calkins, Director, Sales & Marketing for Neenah Publishing, said, “We at Neenah are excited to help train the next generation of book builders. The BMI Book Manufacturing Mastered program is a great vehicle for showcasing our ongoing passion and support for this noble industry.”
