Oce Introduces Revolutionary Universal Photopaper

Press release from the issuing company

Oce Photo Perfect Plus Delivers Mounting and Lamination Performance Enhancements CHICAGO--April 8, 2002--Oce, a leading supplier of digital document management and delivery technology, announces the introduction of Oce Photo Perfect Plus, an innovative new photopaper that delivers improved performance in mounting and lamination, features a universal coating that accepts both dye and pigment inks from any printer, and has superior surface characteristics to other photopapers currently on the market. Oce Photo Perfect Plus incorporates the use of patent-pending, high-performance coatings instead of the traditional sandwiched construction typical of all other photobases. The result is a product with a more durable surface that is highly ink receptive, possesses excellent lamination properties with heat activated or pressure sensitive adhesives, and is heavier in weight than other photopapers. It is available for immediate delivery in a variety of roll widths up to 60" in gloss or satin finishes. "This is the first significant change within this product category since ink jet printers started making the printing of digital quality images possible,"according to Bruce Winfield, vice president of marketing for Oce Imaging Supplies. "The basic photo paper was never changed. Photobase media sold today is very similar to paper originally used in the silver halide photo development process. "From close interaction with our customers, we knew they were looking for media that would better meet the demands of today's high-quality display graphics applications and that would cost less. So we went back to the drawing board and engineered a new photopaper that overcomes current photobase deficiencies in mounting and laminating -- thus improving workflow dynamics,"commented Winfield. Oce provides its customers with easy online ordering of media and access to display graphics technical support through the Oce Imaging Supplies Resource Center and e-commerce website at www.oceusa.com.
