AF&PA Commends Administration Regulatory Reform Executive Orders

Press release from the issuing company

Washington, D.C. – American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Heidi Brock commended the Administration for signing two executive orders aimed at increasing transparency and due process in the U.S. regulatory system. President Trump signed the“Promoting the Rule of Law Through Transparency and Fairness in Civil Administrative Enforcement and Adjudication” Executive Order and the “Promoting the Rule of Law Through Improved Agency Guidance Documents” Executive Order at the White House on October 9.

“The paper and wood products industry appreciates the Administration’s initiative to increase transparency and due process for agency guidance documents. Today marks a fundamental step toward a more transparent, fair and effective regulatory system and will support our ability to innovate, invest, create jobs and compete at home and around the globe. With roughly four percent of total U.S. manufacturing GDP and approximately 950,000 men women in rural and urban communities across 45 states, we are one of the largest manufacturing sectors in the nation. We look forward to continuing our work with the Administration and stakeholders to advance regulatory reforms that provide a more sustainable regulatory process that also unleashes innovation and economic growth. That’s a win-win for everyone.”
