Press release from the issuing company

Now Japanese consumers can create photobooks easily on their mobile phones and order directly with Vistaprint Japan

Tokyo and Singapore – photobook.ai, developer of smart automatic photo-book creation software has designed, developed and delivered the Vistaprint Photobook app for Japan. The mobile apps feature AI Visual Intelligence technology from photobook.ai that will automatically suggest books based upon user-behaviors, remove blurred images, documents and duplicates and automatically creates unique photobooks making sure that faces are never cropped. It also chooses photos to make interesting thematic collages automatically and ensures that the flow and layout of images tell a story.

"Japanese consumers are one of the most mobile-savvy in the world. They also demand very high-quality products. Together with the Vistaprint Japan team, we have developed a very intuitive application which takes the photos directly from a user’s phone and makes beautiful lay-flat photobooks bound in hard-cover, printed with 6-colour ink technology on HP Indigo presses, fulfilled by Vistaprint facilities in Japan," says Terence Swee, Founder and CEO of photobook.ai

“Photobook companies are trying to out-discount each other to cajole users to make and order photobooks. However, what consumers really need is help with their books. Using state-of-the-art AI computer vision algorithms, we have developed clever and efficient ways to remove all the most tiresome barriers to creating a photobook. We then use carefully designed UI to enable users to personalize and add a little bit of themselves into their books,” says Swee. The Vistaprint Photobook app can be downloaded for free from the Japan Apple Appstore for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices on 2nd October 2019.
