Prolatus Makes Its IPEX Debut

Press release from the issuing company

LEEDS, U.K.--April 3, 2002--Prolatus will be making its IPEX debut (hall 4, stand 723), hot on the heals of the recent launch of its UK subsidiary office. This will cap a remarkable twelve months for Prolatus, which has seen it grow from an initial launch at Seybold Boston, winning the coveted Seybold Editor's "Hot Pick" award, to being one of today's most talked-about technologies. The UK office, based in Leeds, Yorkshire was opened in January 2002 to spearhead operations into Europe. Headed by Director of Sales Antony Talbot and Technical Services Director John Georgallis, the UK site will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the UK and mainland Europe. The UK and European strategy will be based around a small number of direct accounts, coupled to a direct channel of dealers and resellers. Dealers will provide frontline technical support, installation and integration services. The company develops and markets a series of software tools that enhance collaborative retouching and proofing workflows within the graphic arts market place. The core technology avoids compression, which can result in loss of image quality, and sidesteps the need for high bandwidth data connections. The product range includes Courier and Courier Server, Expert and Expert Server, WebConnect and MarkUp. All of these products are based around Prolatus' patented Catalyst Technology. This proven bandwidth-independent technology forms modules which eliminate the traditional limitations and/or inefficiencies associated with moving and handling large digital images. In addition, Catalyst Technology's highly extensible architecture allows for great flexibility in meeting the unique needs of businesses both large and small. Antony Talbot commented, "To say that we are excited by this technology is something of an understatement. The product range is totally unique, and just as importantly, very affordable to a huge range of businesses. Prolatus has achieved tremendous success in the States in a very short time," Talbot continued, "and whilst the European market is structurally different, we see a huge potential and this optimism is backed up be the reaction we have had in our first few months of operation." Prolatus Inc. is based out of Minneapolis and was founded in 1999 by CEO Jeff Hoekstra. The product range was debuted at Seybold Seminars Boston 2001, where it received a coveted Seybold Editors' Hot Pick award. "This is all about simplicity," said Prolatus CEO Jeff Hoekstra. "Fast and simple image transfer and production with no compromises or heavy burdens on people, equipment or budgets. We see a tremendous opportunity in Europe and are very excited to be at our first IPEX show" he continued.
