Envelope Mart USA Expands Capabilities with New W+D Halm i-Jet High-Speed Inkjet Envelope Press

Press release from the issuing company

Northwood, Ohio – EMI Enterprises, Inc, dba Envelope Mart USA - has announced the purchase of a new W+D Halm i-Jet high-speed inkjet envelope press. The new press will complement Envelope Mart’s broad arsenal of Halm litho envelope presses and W+D and FL Smithe converting equipment. The i-Jet press boasts production speeds of up to 32,000 #10 envelopes per hour and enables high-resolution printing of either full-color static or complex variable copy. The i-Jet’s non-contact inkjet technology eliminates seam or flap lines and allows for overprinting on new texturized papers. Reduced set-up times and the absence of plates and blankets means lower operating costs and more competitive selling prices.

Envelope Mart USA is a 40+ year-old family-owned trade printer founded in Toledo as a small wholesale ‘jet’ shop. They have grown rapidly over the past decade since embracing manufacturing and now also operate 8 converting lines around the clock. Strategically located in the ‘Crossroads of America’, Envelope Mart ships millions of envelopes daily across the nation. Their full-service envelope operations occupy three facilities and 125,000 square feet and are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including their patented reusable envelope packaging system (REPS) that replaces corrugated boxes for high-volume contract customers.

Norm Shapiro, President, said of the new W+D Halm i-Jet press: “We are excited to expand our horsepower by adding variable inkjet capabilities to our extensive litho imprinting and converting lineup. The new press will further round out our offerings, increase capacity and improve turn-around times on short- and medium-run full-color envelopes. W+D has been a great partner over the years and we appreciate their constant innovation to help established trade vendors like us bring new efficiencies and solutions to our customers.”
