SAN DIEGO, April 1 -- Imaging Technologies a leading developer and supplier of color management software, today announced the release of ColorBlind 5.0, the latest version of its award-winning ColorBlind software application. The new version of ColorBlind will be exhibited and demonstrated by a number of ITEC's sales and technology partners at the International Printing and Visual Communications (IPEX) show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on April 9-17. ColorBlind 5.0 offers an improved graphical user interface (GUI) that is designed to be more intuitive. It includes online help screens and easier access to ColorBlind tools. The functions of ColorBlind 5.0 are modularized and accessible as PhotoShop plug-ins. ColorBlind 5.0 includes a series of modules that provide support for scanners, digital cameras, CRT and flat panel displays, multi-channel printers, and a variety of measuring instruments. The first modules planned for release over the next month will be ColorBlind v5 Scan, ColorBlind v5 Print, and ColorBlind v5 View. First releases will have limited measuring instrument support. Additional modules planned for later this year include ColorBlind v5 Edit, ColorBlind v5 Statistics, ColorBlind v5 Spot, and ColorBlind v5 Dcam. The software will support an expanded list of measuring instruments. ColorBlind 5.0 products will be available as individual modules and as "suites" or combinations of modules such as MatchBox and Professional. ColorBlind Products ColorBlind Professional is professional-level ICC profiling software for Mac and PC. It is widely used by color professionals who demand complete control over all aspects of output profiles. The Professional version is bundled with ColorBlind ProveIt! and ColorBlind Edit to provide a complete ICC solution from scanner to monitor to print. ColorBlind Matchbox is an all-in-one ICC compatible color matching solution for Mac or PC. Matchbox includes software for creating ICC profiles of any color device, a colorimeter for creating printer profiles, profile editing and image soft proofing with ColorBlind Edit, Pantone, and spot color calibration with ColorBlind Spot. Users are provided all the tools needed for creating and maintaining ICC profiles in one package. The most requested function of ICC based color management is to get a monitor to simulate what prints. ColorBlind Prove it! calibrates and profiles both LCD and CRT color monitors to provide the connection needed to accurately view the color in the file. ProveIt! The network version adds the tools needed to match monitors on workstations through a TCP/IP local network. ColorBlind ICC ColorMatic EZ is aimed at the OEM market to be bundled with various products as a simple and basic application that gives end users access to entry-level tools.
