Monaco Systems Localizes Software to Serve Creatives in Japan

ANDOVER, Mass.--April 1, 2002--Monaco Systems, Inc., a leader in the field of color management, announces the release of its Japanese version of MonacoEZcolor 2.1. MonacoEZcolor 2.1, based on the same award winning features of MonacoEZcolor 2 is intended for photography and graphic design, providing an intuitive user interface and hardcopy user manual in Japanese. MonacoEZcolor 2.1 is being sold through distributors and dealers in Japan and lists for (Y)84,800, including the MonacoSENSOR colorimeter. "Photographers and photo labs in Japan are becoming increasingly interested in color management as a way to improve color accuracy and increase customer satisfaction,'' says Frank Gilliland, director of international sales. "MonacoEZcolor's performance and low price appeal to a broad section of the Japanese market, and we are pleased that this new release has been greeted by sharp demand.'' MonacoEZcolor 2.1 is an ICC-profiling application for photographers, graphic designers, and other creative individuals. MonacoEZcolor 2.1 creates custom ICC profiles for monitors, scanners, and RGB and CMYK printers. Users can fine-tune their printer profiles as well as their device-link profiles using the application's powerful and intuitive profile editing tools. These profiles, as part of a color managed workflow, provide accurate, consistent color between devices and paper types and save the time and expense of trial and error color corrections. In addition to a intuitive Japanese user interface, outstanding features include improved profile quality, output profile editing, and ColorWorks. The software interfaces with the MonacoSENSOR colorimeter, for accurate monitor calibration. In the past year, MonacoEZcolor 2 has won numerous awards from top trade magazines, including: "Recommended Product,'' PC Pro; "Best Buy,'' ZDNet; an " Editors' Choice,'' PCPhoto; "Four Stars,'' Photoshop User; and "Cool 2 for Color Management Software,'' PEI magazine.
