Georgensgmünd – TroFilms GmbH, a medium-sized globally active specialist for high-quality special laminating films for the graphic arts industry based in Georgensgmünd, Germany, has been officially certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management by the Deutschen Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen (DQS), following the scheduled two-day certification audit 10 - 11 July, 2019.

The external auditor for DQS, Dipl. Ing. Knut Roland Popp, who also performed the preliminary audit for the company in April this year, was very satisfied with the implementation of all tasks. He was able to confirm that all regulations had been fully complied with, plus he found no deviations from the quality system. Mr. Popp mentioned the extensive production documentation and quality records, which will enable comprehensive traceability of product quality in future years, as an extra positive aspect of the certification audit.

TroFilms GmbH was supervised by Dipl. Ing. Jörg P. Schmitt, working as an external project manager during the introduction of the globally important industrial management system. After the audit, Mr. Schmitt once again thanked the management of the company, Mr. Ralf Troyer and Ms. Nicole Schwörer, for the trust they had placed in him and emphasized that the successful introduction of this quality management system, including successful certification in only six months, would not have been possible without the acceptance and excellent input of all employees. In particular, he congratulated Mr. Stefan Strauß, plant and production manager, and Mr. Sascha Walter, internal quality manager, for the TroFilms achievement: "TroFilms has formulated an open, honest, committed and highly motivated, understandable, simple and clearly structured management system across all employee levels and documented it in accordance with the guidelines."

According to Jörg P. Schmitt, as in every mature system, some improvement potential was found during the project phase which, after implementation, will provide the system with even greater clarity for strategic decisions, continuous product development and expansion of the TroFilms business. Examples are the current strategic implementation of SAP, as well as the continued expansion of production and storage capacities due to increasing global demand for the company's high-quality special films. Such improvements can now be implemented logically as milestones, using the ISO management review process.

Ralf Troyer, Managing Director of TroFilms GmbH, commented: "Despite my initial significant scepticism based on my external experience with previous ISO 9001 accreditations and the associated disproportionate administrative effort, I can say today after our successful certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2015 that the current system is relevant and supports us clearly in fulfilling our very high quality requirements. It was helpful to know that with Mr. Jörg P. Schmitt, we had at our side a project engineer with many years of experience in the graphic arts industry plus in business management. This allowed us to concentrate fully on the day-to-day business processes, without losing a lot of time through lengthy coordination and explanation processes. The result is a real advantage for everyone involved and ultimately also for our worldwide customers and trading partners".
