IPEX 2002: Software Manufacturer Best Focusing on Remote Proofing

Press release from the issuing company

Krefeld, March 27, 2002 -- Best GmbH, provider of solutions for the printing and publishing market, will present its popular digital proofing products at IPEX 2002, taking place in Birmingham from April 9 to 17. The latest versions of Best Screenproof and Best Colorproof will be demonstrated. Both products support remote proofing – a feature allowing proof results to be sent across wide distances without the need for a courier, while at the same time ensuring that both sender and recipient have exactly the same color information to work from. This saves both time and money, and is particularly interesting when approval is required of not just two but of many different people, e.g. editorial departments of publishing houses who may be many miles apart in different locations. Best Screenproof is a new technology enabling color-accurate screen proofing. The software uses drop-on-demand inkjet printers and incorporates ICC standards. The presentation of the original raster is based on the use of the one-bit files which the workflow providers of CtP, CtF and digital print solutions create to drive their output systems. These are the result of RIP screening processes and contain the complete raster information for film, plate or digital print in the respective color separations. Best Colorproof is a professional proofing solution for inkjet and laser printers and incorporates the ICC color management standard. The software is able to simulate any printing process or device on an existing printer. Furthermore, it helps overcome the difficulty of color communication between customer, agency and print shop and can produce an exact prediction of the subsequent print result at any time.
