Press release from the issuing company

Lenexa, Kan. – W+D, the leading manufacturer of envelope converting and direct mail inserting technology, announced that Data Mail, Inc., Newington CT, one of the nation’s largest full-service direct mail production companies , has purchased and installed their second 627RC web envelope machine with inline CI flexo print technology for four color work as well as W+D’s newest blank fed converter, the W+D 410 Easy Enveloper with embosser. Both machines offer state of the art envelope printing and finishing for blank and web fed envelope production. Data Mail has also ordered four W+D BB700 S2 intelligent read & print direct mail inserters. One is currently in operation and three more are now on order for delivery early this fall.

Scott Braunstein, Data Mail’s Senior Vice President, observes “today’s customers demand highest integrity, personalized mailings with the fastest possible response times which is why we are pleased to further our partnership with W+D, with the purchase of four BB700 S2s.” Greg Gaito, Director of Operations, cites “the BB700 S2 offers unparalleled technology such as auto-mismatch recovery, a versatile autoloader for both rotary and friction feeders and a high-performance vertical stacker leading to much greater throughput whether from one insert to six inserts on the most demanding of paper stocks and envelope sizes – including flats.” Michael Gingerich, Continuous Improvement Manager, adds “the W+D’s BB700 S2 integration with the latest MCS raptor software, camera and printers means all the machines on our floor can now speak a common language.”

“As direct mail packages become more complex in pursuit of higher response rates, direct mailers are challenged to achieve faster time-to-mailbox drop dates and higher net-on-the-belt productivity,” states Andrew Schipke Vice President Sales and Marketing for W+D North America. “We see forward thinking converters and mailers like Data Mail embracing the opportunity to address these trends head-on in in both their envelope converting and inserting operations achieving a significant speed advantage and the ability to leap-frog their competition.”
