American Forest & Paper Association Releases June 2019 Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly Report

Washington, D.C. – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its June 2019 Packaging Papers and Specialty Packaging Monthly report on July 17.

Total packaging papers shipments were down 6.7 percent from June 2018 and down 3.1 percent year-to-date. Bag and sack shipments were down 0.9 percent year-to-date; multiwall shipments were down nine percent; food wrapping shipments were up two percent; and converting shipments were down 5.3 percent. The operating rate for June increased to 86.2 percent compared to 85.2 percent in May. Inventory levels decreased 3.6 percent from May.
