Press release from the issuing company

EDOX 4 Responds to Complex Workflow with Expanded Job/Color Management VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--Sept. 12, 2002--IKON Office Solutions, Inc. today announced the latest release of its exclusive EDOX document server line from Electronics for Imaging. Based on EFI's industry leading print server technology, the newest EDOX servers showcase strong improvements to job and color management capabilities, as well as advanced workflow support for applications such as remote printing. "IKON continues to build upon our differentiated lineup of front-end systems that deliver professional job and color controls," said Jeff King, Vice President of Product Marketing, IKON Office Solutions. "With EDOX 4, businesses will enjoy improved output quality and document workflow efficiency from a plug-and-play, integrated solution that only IKON can offer." Streamlining the document production process, EDOX 4 features convenient Web-based job ticketing for pre- and post-printing instructions, as well as an enhanced account code system, which allows access restriction by individual user. Color control refinements allow customization to match overlay proofing systems as well as improved soft proofing (WYSISYG viewing), RGB/CMYK substitute color support and enhanced paper simulation. Additionally, EFI's PrintMe software will be built in to the EDOX server, eliminating the need for separate hardware while delivering remote printing capabilities through any Print Me-enabled mobile device. "Leveraging EFI's technological leadership in color imaging and high-speed mobile and networked printing, IKON can create, deliver and implement document production systems and workflow that respond to the business needs of our customers across all segments of the color market," said Cathy Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing, IKON Office Solutions. Available in four configurations (Business, Graphics, Production and 5000 HV), IKON's EDOX offers compatibility with familiar Windows 9x, Me, NT 4.0, XP and 2000 systems, as well as Macintosh environments. EDOX 4 drives a range of color copiers and large-format printers from Canon, Ricoh, ENCAD and Hewlett-Packard, including support for recently released imaging devices such as the Canon CLC 1140/1160/1180 Series, as well as Canon BJ-W9000 and HP DesignJet 5000 wide format printers. "EFI is delighted to partner with IKON to deliver the latest version of the EDOX server solution to their customers," said Frank Mallozzi, VP of Worldwide Sales, Electronics For Imaging.
