As it has for many years, OKI was once again exhibiting at the IPMA event this year. IPMA is the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association in the US.

Arthur Verweij, Sr Marketing Manager for the Specialty Products Division, noted that OKI was showing the award-winning OKI C942DP+ Digital LED Envelope Press at the IPMA event. The C942DP+ is capable of printing in CMYK and white all in a single pass. This unique feature allows you to print color on colored stock or envelopes using white underneath, and to also print in brilliant white.

OKI’s printing solutions are very popular with In-Plant shops as a full production digital solution for printing anything from 3” x 5” up to 13” x 52” banners, various envelopes, 6- or 8-panel brochures, business cards, letterhead or NCR, all within seconds.

OKI is known for its robust top-load feeder, which is the easiest to set up in this market segment. Another feature users find important is the straight through paper path which allows you to print ultra-heavy stock without a problem.

The Pantone matching of the OKI is another notable feature, and according to some existing OKI customers at the show, 90% of the time the standard OKI is dead on with color matching.

Verweij continued by saying that OKI’s Digital Envelope sales increased by 40% over the last year and this was mainly in the In-Plant printshops and the Print for Pay markets. According to Verweij, “We have so many loyal customers that purchase one OKI after another or multiple units at the same location.”

OKI will unveil several customer videos next month featuring universities that switched to OKI from other Digital Envelope Solutions and they will all explain the various reasons why.

OKI was also showing their Digital Transfer Solutions and many attendees were very interested to start exploring doing the apparel for their school in-house. OKI’s Digital Transfer Solutions can print transfers in CMYK including white for all apparel from 100% cotton to 100% Polyester and any blend. It’s also great for hard goods like coffee cups, metal, wood, glass, acrylic plaques and awards, signage and much more.
