San Diego, Calif. – Memjet (Memjet.com), announced today that its DuraLink digital printing technology was selected by the European Digital Press Association (EDP) as a winner at its 12th annual awards ceremony. The EDP Awards are given annually to recognize the year’s best technological developments in digital printing. DuraLink, which won the Best Print Engine and Printheads category, is Memjet’s modular print system that is used by OEMs to create innovative presses for the commercial, packaging and industrial print markets. The EDP Awards were presented last week at the FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich, Germany.
“Memjet OEM partners around the world have recognized the important role DuraLink plays in supporting their product development and getting innovative printing products to market faster,” said Kevin Shimamoto, chief marketing officer at Memjet. “It is gratifying to have our technology also recognized by the expert panel at the European Press Association. This award validates the excellent work of our R&D and engineering teams, and we are proud to receive it.”
The EDP is comprised of 21 leading trade magazines that have an editorial focus on digital print processes. Each year, the EDP honors the best developments in the areas of production, software, substrates, inks, materials and finishing solutions. This year, out of more than 120 submissions, 28 winners were selected in seven categories.
DuraLink is a modular print system used by OEMs to create innovative printing products. The flexibility of DuraLink’s modules, combined with Memjet’s engineering support, enables OEMs to reduce development time by as much as six months. DuraLink’s long printhead life, combined with durable aqueous pigment ink and its 2.5-meter (100-inch) maximum print width, gives OEMs the ability to create market-leading solutions in markets with higher print volumes.
