GCSFNE Awards $23,500 in Scholarships to New England Students

Southborough, Mass. – The Graphic Communications Scholarship Fund of New England recently awarded twelve New England students a total of $23,500 to pursue their education in graphic communications.

  • Sklar Hope Curtis of NH will attend Keene State College for Graphic Design.
  • Emma Jane DaSilva of RI will attend Endicott College for Graphic Design.
  • Nataluah Owens of CT will attend Central Connecticut State University for Graphics Technology.
  • Eric Mattar Jacobsen of CT will attend Central Connecticut State University for Graphics Technology.
  • Claire Holloway of VT will attend Champlain College for Graphic Design & Digital Media.
  • Vincent Amoroso of ME will attend Maine College of Art for Graphic Design.
  • Benjamin Drogue of NH will attend Rochester Institute of Technologies for Graphic Arts & Technology.
  • China Torres of CT will attend Elms College for Graphic Design.
  • Reneasia Love of MA will attend Savannah College of Art for Graphic Design.
  • Riley Jakusik of MA will attend Columbia College Chicago for Graphic Design and UX.
  • Hector Resto of MA will attend Massbay Community College for Studio Art.
  • Aya Borucki of CT will attend Rhode Island School of Design for Illustration.

“It's very important for students to know there is a scholarship fund that will assist them in furthering their education in the graphic communications field," said Ward McLaughlin, President of Boutwell, Owens & Co. and Chairman of the GCSFNE scholarship committee. “Our industry needs bright young people interested in finding a career with us. It's no longer an industry characterized by ink under the fingernails, but one needing talent and expertise in areas as diverse as data management, IT, workflow engineering, equipment operation, sales and business management.”

GCSFNE conducts fundraising efforts throughout the year to enable the expansion of the number of scholarships awarded each year. Currently, scholarships are awarded up to a maximum of $2500/year for those students attending a 4 year accredited program.
