TECHKON unveils the new generation of its plate-measuring instrument SpectroPlate. The measurement of the right dot transfer on offset printing plates is a key segment of comprehensive process control in the printing industry. The newly developed SpectroPlate even exceeds the increased requirements thanks to the latest high-performance components.

SpectroPlate is a high precision, robust and maintenance-free measuring instrument. Within a second all relevant quality metrics for the right exposure of offset printing plates will be clearly displayed.

The instrument has no restrictions for screening shape or size. Whether FM, AM or hybrid screening: Thanks to the precise optical system, the high resolution, the quality of the image sensor and the sophisticated graphic calculations, the measuring device manages the exact evaluation of every screen technology and all kind of materials.

The multifunctional high precision device handles dot measurement on printing plates as well as on digital flexo-plates, film and printed paper in CMYK print excellently.

SpectroPlate is available in three versions:

SpectroPlate Start is limited to measurements of dot percent, width, and angle, and is used for occasional checking and diagnosis of printing plates. SpectroPlate Expert, on the other hand, is designed for regular use. The plate characteristic, dot size and dot distance are recorded additionally. The SpectroPlate All-Vision version, with its infrared light sources, is in addition suitable for measurements of processless and chemistry-free low contrast plates.

The devices Start and Expert can be upgraded by software or hardware modifications to a higher version.

Software TECHKON SpectroConnect for all instrument versions

The Windows software TECHKON SpectroConnect, included in the content of delivery, establishes the connection between the measuring device and the PC via the USB connection. Data processing of the measured values on the PC is very comfortable and data can be transmitted directly to Microsoft Excel™ or any other application with editing function.

The plate characteristics can be output in Harlequin or ISO 18620 format and thus imported into all modern RIPs.

When using TECHKON SpectroPlate, the program can perform metric measurements in the high-resolution video image and save the image in jpg or png format. TECHKON SpectroConnect is a universal quality control software included free of charge in the content of delivery of all TECHKON devices of the Spectro series.
