Two New Digital Printing Systems To Be Introduced by Scitex Digital Printing

Press release from the issuing company

Major Product Introductions Strengthen Company's Strategic Vision as a Total-Solutions Provider DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 29 -- Scitex Digital Printing announced today that it will introduce two new digital printing products at DIMA, one of the largest conferences and trade shows that opens September 1 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The Passport(TM) 4300 and Liberty(TM) 7122 Printing Systems, part of the company's Dijit Series of Imprinting Products, are targeted for professional and in-plant mailers, binderies and commercial printers and offered as complete printing systems or as printers for simple integration within existing printing equipment configurations. The introduction of the new products advances Scitex Digital Printing's strategic plan of being a total-solutions provider to the printing industry. "With the additions of these two products, we now offer printing products that serve the full range of applications," said Nachum "Homi" Shamir, president and CEO of Scitex Digital Printing. "From our full page VersaMark Printing Systems to our narrow page Dijit Printing Systems, we have the fastest and most cost-effective solutions for printing 100% variable data whether in monochrome, spot or process color." The announcement of the printing systems is the third major product introduction for the year that began with the release of the VersaMark Vantage(TM) Printing System in April at IPEX in Birmingham, England. "Despite the general economic slowdown, we made the conscious decision to move forward with our long-term strategic plan and develop products that our customers around the world have told us that they need to be successful," continued Shamir. "These new products as well as major software releases and our emphasis on excellence in customer service all demonstrate our commitment to both the printing industry and our loyal customer base." Both Passport and Liberty offer printers added capability to print on a wider variety of substrates, including glossy papers, metal, film and plastics. Passport features 2.58 inches of print and speeds up to 330 fpm; Liberty provides 2.13 inches of print and speeds up to 1000 fpm (model dependent). Both printers are designed for ease of use and yet with industrial ruggedness for a production environment. Bundled with each product is the new, highly graphical release of MailScape(TM) XP software for job setup and control. Scitex Digital Printing's products are sold through a direct sales force and internationally through a distributor channel as well. Recognized worldwide for high-speed, 100% variable data printing capability, the products range from a narrow 1-inch print width to a full 9-inch print and from standalone printers to fully integrated systems for monochrome, spot or process color printing applications. Typical users of the products include binderies, professional mailers, transactional document printers, direct mailers and other commercial printers. Scitex Digital Printing, Inc. is a world leader in ultra-high-speed digital printing solutions with over 5,000 system installations worldwide and in a variety of applications ranging from addressing, personalization and variable messaging, to direct mail and short-run book printing and bill and statement printing. The company's products include the VersaMark(TM) high- resolution page printing systems and the Dijit range of narrow format printers.
