FinePrint Software Releases pdfFactory Pro Version 1.5

Press release from the issuing company

pdfFactory Pro 1.5 Adds New Bookmark Feature for Simplifying the Process of Navigating Through Complex Documents SAN FRANCISCO---July 10, 2002--FinePrint Software today announces the release of pdfFactory Pro 1.5, an easy-to-use and inexpensive tool for creating Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. To simplify the process of working with large, complex documents, pdfFactory Pro now enables users to easily create bookmarks throughout their documents. More and more, PDF files are being used to consolidate multiple documents or for presenting complex structured documents but, until now, it has been difficult to create PDF documents with bookmarks. pdfFactory Pro 1.5 now has made this process easier than ever by automating their creation from all document types instead of the tedious process of manually creating bookmarks or using awkward macros. pdfFactory Pro 1.5 offers three convenient bookmarks modes. First, pdfFactory Pro enables users to create a bookmark for each document contained in the PDF. Since pdfFactory Pro creates multiple document PDFs automatically, this addition of bookmarks allows PDFs to be used as easily navigable "containers" for multiple documents, similar to a zip file. Secondly, users can create a table of contents based on text styles contained in the document, with pdfFactory Pro automatically organizing up to nine levels of bookmarks. Finally, pdfFactory Pro 1.5 allows users to manually create bookmarks by specifying the page and name of each bookmark throughout a document. Bookmarks in all modes can be renamed, removed or rearranged as desired by the user. "With the addition of the bookmark feature, pdfFactory Pro delivers on the promise of PDF, providing a means for delivering any set of documents in a single file that can be universally viewed and printed," said Jonathan Weiner, FinePrint Software's CEO. "We are particularly excited about giving users the ability to create a table of contents as it will save countless hours in preparing complex documents for PDF distribution." Enhanced document security is another feature that sets pdfFactory Pro apart from the base version of pdfFactory. Many users demand security for sensitive documents, such as contracts, corporate information and legal documents, or other copyrighted material such as books, dissertations and technical papers. pdfFactory Pro 1.5 includes a wide range of security options, including encryption (40 bit and 128 bit), password protection for opening documents, and the ability to restrict copying, printing and editing the PDF file. A trial version of pdfFactory is available for download at the FinePrint Web site, www.fineprint.com. pdfFactory Pro is priced at $99.95, and the base pdfFactory version is available for $49.95. Quantity discounts are available.
