Pantone Partners with Morton’s Steakhouse to Launch Proprietary “Meat Matching System” (April Fools 2019 Edition)

Press release from the issuing company

Pantone recently partnered with Morton’s Steakhouse to offer diners the ability to precisely and quantitatively specify the level of steak doneness. Called the Meat Matching System (MMS), Morton’s customers can now order steak and, during ordering, choose from one of 256 levels of doneness identified by number in a fanfold swatchbook—from MM 000 (“still mooing”) to MM 256 (“vaguely beef-flavored charcoal”), taking the guesswork out of food preparation and greatly enhancing the dining experience.

The new system will officially launch at the Chicago Morton’s Steakhouse during PRINT 19.
