Kinkos Names William P. Benac as CFO

DALLAS, July 10 -- Kinko's, Inc. today announced the addition of William P. (Bill) Benac as chief financial officer. Mr. Benac will join the leading provider of document solutions and business services effective August 12. As Kinko's new CFO, Mr. Benac's responsibilities will include all accounting, treasury, tax, financial planning and internal audit functions for the company. Mr. Benac's background includes nearly 30 years of strategic financial planning and budgeting, corporate restructuring, business divestures, and venture capital, including a decade of international experience in Europe, Asia and Latin America. "Bill Benac comes to us with broad financial and operational experience that will make him a great fit with Kinko's entrepreneurial culture and long- standing leadership position," said Gary Kusin, Kinko's president and chief executive officer. "His experience as a top financial executive at multi- national corporations will benefit Kinko's, a network of more than 20,000 team members and 1,100 locations in nine countries." Mr. Benac's experience comes from a range of industries, including professional, technology, financial and telecommunications services, as well as high technology manufacturing and retail. He most recently served as executive vice president and CFO of Grass Valley Group, a leading digital broadcasting technology company. Previously, he was concurrently CFO of NYSE financial services company UICI and CEO of United Credit National Bank. He held the post of CFO at FIRSTPLUS Financial Group and spent more than five years with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as corporate vice president, global treasurer and group executive. Prior to EDS, he was an associate and financial officer of Odyssey Partners LP in New York. He began his career in 1973 with GTE Corp. (now Verizon) and was promoted steadily to positions of increasing management responsibility. By the end of his 16 year tenure, Mr. Benac served simultaneously as president of GTE Finance Corporation, vice president and treasurer of GTE International, and assistant treasurer - Capital Markets: GTE Corp. He holds both Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah and a Juris Doctor from the Pace University School of Law. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. Mr. Benac serves as Chairman of the Texas International Theatrical Arts Society (TITAS) and on the boards of the Marriott School of Management, Pathway Orphanage, the Grameen Foundation and the Dallas Arboretum. He was recognized by BYU-Idaho as "Business Leader of the Year" in 2000.
