ECRM Targets Smaller Printers with New CtP Dealer in the UK

Press release from the issuing company

TEWKSBURY, MA -- (August 26, 2002) - ECRM Imaging Systems has appointed Repro Sales & Repairs as a new dealer for the UK market, which will focus its efforts on selling ECRM's Mako 2 CTP system to smaller printers. The company made the announcement earlier this month. "We have a very loyal customer base that keeps coming back to us when the next generation of technology starts to impact the market," states Mike Adams, UK Sales Manager of Repro Sales & Repairs. "It is clear that smaller printers now need to move into CTP, as their customers are demanding first generation quality. The Mako 2 is ideal to help them make the transition, as it is extremely simple to operate and very reliable." The Mako 2 capitalizes on the ease-of-use, reliability and low operating costs of its unique imaging system, which is based on the successful Mako imagesetter. Using a long-life 405nm violet diode, it is compatible with the latest range of silver-halide plates, imaging a maximum format of 560mm x 670mm with a variety of resolutions up to 3556 dpi. "The time has never been better to move into CTP," confirms Mike Adams. "Our customers need to stay competitive whilst providing faster turnaround times and shorter runs. The Mako 2 makes this possible at a cost that can be quickly recovered by taking on work which may have been outsourced in the past." Repro Sales and Repairs has always focused on providing 'value for money' solutions. It has been in operation for 14 years and has changed its product portfolio with the market. Its key focus for the last year has been CTP, proofing and digital workflows. "We very much appreciate the CTP focus of Mike and his team," states Ken Tucker, Area Sales Manager at ECRM. "Repro Sales & Repairs offer a very professional 'no frills' service which is exactly in line with ECRM's own policy of offering the highest quality products as the lowest possible cost. We wish Mike and his team every success in the future." ECRM Imaging Systems develops, manufactures and markets imagesetters, thermal and visible-light platesetters and digital halftone proofers known for their high reliability, solid manufacture and aggressive pricing. Its platesetters have been responsible for lowering price thresholds for entry into computer-to-plate (CTP) technology. The company provides a range of workflow solutions to support its CTP and imagesetting customers. Over 21,000 imagesetters, platesetters, and scanners have been sold to customers worldwide through dealers, distributors, and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) organizations. ECRM Imaging Systems is headquartered in Tewksbury, Mass., near Boston, and has offices in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Beijing.
