EP Graphics Acquires McCormick Armstrong

Acquisition expands largest Indiana-based web printer
Berne, Ind. – EP Graphics has entered into an agreement to acquire the operating assets of McCormick Armstrong, a Wichita, Kansas, business founded in 1912. The acquisition will expand the largest Indiana-based web printer.
EP Graphics and McCormick Armstrong will begin an orderly transition to the EP Graphics plant in Berne, Indiana. A sales and customer service office will remain in Wichita to continue the outstanding service McCormick Armstrong clients have known throughout its history.

The business has changed so much that many from our past would not recognize us today.”

It specializes in short-to-medium runs for a wide variety of commercial printing, catalogs, books and other publications.
“The Armstrong, Shaffer and Muselman families operate with the same set of core business values and integrity. I am excited about the benefits and opportunities this provides to our customers and staff,” said Jake Shaffer, McCormick Armstrong president and CEO. Shaffer will retire after 54 years with McCormick Armstrong and the completion of his succession plan with EP Graphics.
EP Graphics was founded in Berne by Christian Muselman in 1925. It began as Economy Printing Concern. The company is now jointly owned by the Muselman family and Kitt.
A sister company also under Muselman ownership and based in Berne—DRG—is comprised of two divisions, media (Annie’s), and technology and fulfillment (SFG).
Annie’s products—including magazines, kit and book clubs, online videos, digital content, patterns, supplies and TV programming—are targeted to home and family interests, including crafts, nostalgia and home décor.
SFG provides state-of-the-art technology, fulfillment and database marketing services out of a 140,000-square-foot facility in East Texas.
