Kodak Forms New Global Manufacturing Services Business Unit

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--July 9, 2002--Eastman Kodak Company has formed a new business unit, called Global Manufacturing Services, that will take advantage of the company's manufacturing expertise to produce a variety of coated materials, chemicals and precision parts for others on a contract basis. The new business unit, established within the company's Global Manufacturing & Logistics organization, is the latest example of Kodak's corporate growth strategy to identify new businesses and new markets. The new Kodak Global Manufacturing Services unit will leverage the company's broad-based materials manufacturing capabilities to offer the following products and services: * Thin multi-layer web coating and converting; * High-purity fine chemicals; * Cast and extruded supports (including a variety of polymers and papers), and * Uniform, mono-dispersed, sub-micro particulate manufacturing (including nano-particulates). "We believe there are significant growth opportunities in providing manufacturing services to a range of market applications," said Charles S. Brown, Kodak senior vice-president and director, Global Manufacturing & Logistics. "We have extensive technical resources and world-class manufacturing capabilities, providing a solid foundation to realize these opportunities." Brown also announced that Catherine A. Bonser has been named the director of Kodak Global Manufacturing Services. Bonser will report to Brown and will be responsible for driving this new growth opportunity for the company. "Kodak has a vast array of worldwide facilities and technical resources that are applicable to a variety of emerging industries,"said Bonser. "We look forward to cultivating new customer relationships. We have already received a number of inquiries even before we've actively marketed our services."
