The patent (U.S. 6,415,277) covers technology to monitor databases (including customer, fulfillment, or other related databases) and generate print-related orders based on pre-determined business rules. These orders may range from low inventory notices, triggering automatic re-ordering of printed material, to monitoring an HR database and responding to a new employee by automatically initiating a request for a new employee office stationery suite of products, all without human intervention.
