ImageX Awarded Patent for Automatic Order Engine

Press release from the issuing company

KIRKLAND, Wash., Aug. 15 -- ImageX, the leading provider of online solutions for distributing, managing and producing sales and marketing materials, today announced it has received a sixth patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent (U.S. 6,415,277) covers technology to monitor databases (including customer, fulfillment, or other related databases) and generate print-related orders based on pre-determined business rules. These orders may range from low inventory notices, triggering automatic re-ordering of printed material, to monitoring an HR database and responding to a new employee by automatically initiating a request for a new employee office stationery suite of products, all without human intervention. "By automatically monitoring customer databases for compelling, pre- determined business events, we have the ability to deliver the appropriate printed materials directly to the customer without human intervention," said Rich Begert, president and CEO. "We believe this piece of technology will be very valuable to the print and fulfillment industries, as we have developed and implemented a way to fulfill customer orders based on demand and other business rules in an automated manner."
