KPG Releases Software Upgrade for Matchprint Professional Server

The new software positions the Matchprint Professional Server to deliver color-critical, short-run printing and accurate proofing. "While version 3.0 software further demonstrates KPG’s continued leadership in proofing, it also unlocks the Matchprint Professional Server’s short-run, color-critical printing potential," said John Schloff, Staff Vice President, Digital Printing and Color, KPG. "The software’s added workflow functionality for digital printing provides a level of efficiency that makes the Matchprint Professional Server a powerful digital printing solution." To boost short-run printing capability, KPG gave version 3.0 an enhanced user interface with the ability to prioritize and manage jobs in the queue, change file parameters at the RIP for reprint, apply pre-defined hot folders / spooler settings to new jobs and reprocess files from the job log. The new software also adds full job recovery and variable data support to the Matchprint Professional Server. For proofing applications, version 3.0 boasts new file format support for PDF/IT, PDF 1.4 and TIFF – LZW compression, job accounting features that allow charge-back proof tracking for revenue generation, and expanded color-set simulations, including Dupont Waterproof, Fuji ColorArt, Kodak Approval Digital Halftone Proofing System and SWOP TR001.
