Qwestcom Graphics’ Most Efficient Year Yet Thanks to Heidelberg’s Prinect Production Manager

Press release from the issuing company

Kennesaw, Ga. – Qwestcom Graphics, a family-owned business specializing in political printing in Cleveland, Ohio, is dramatically improving their productivity and efficiency with Prinect Production Manager from Heidelberg — an innovative solution for delivering software by giving customers access to the complete Prinect production workflow in a simple subscription model.

Continuous Updates Create a Peace of Mind
Installed in August 2018, Prinect Production Manager quickly showed its value during Qwestcom’s most crucial time of the year. “As a political printer, our busiest time is during election season, which falls every other October,” said Tom Day, Sales and Marketing Director at Qwestcom Graphics. “My staff was extremely impressed with how quickly we were able to get everything done. It was our most efficient year as a company, and we definitely have to give a lot of thanks to Prinect Production Manager and Heidelberg for that.”

Before Prinect Production Manager, Qwestcom was 10 years behind on their software. Through the Production Manager subscription model, Qwestcom now receives technical support for all fixes and upgrades, allowing them to always be certain that they are up-to-date on the latest versions and newest Prinect suite introductions that are continually being developed.

“In the past, we weren’t even aware of how far we fell behind,” said Day. “The subscription service gives us the peace of mind that we are keeping up with the software as well as hardware and equipment that is needed in prepress.”

An Affordable Tool Qwestcom Can Grow With
In order to meet the specific needs of Qwestcom, Heidelberg’s Prinect team met with the company to determine the business requirements. Based on the consultations, the selected Prinect modules were then installed, necessary hardware was provided and training carried out.

Only charged based on what is used per month, Qwestcom pays a base fee (with an included number of square meter TIFFs) and an additional charge based on the number of square meter TIFFs produced above the base level.

“It’s affordable. It’s a tool that we can continue to add to and can expand with. If we use this tool to its fullest potential, I can see us growing tremendously in the next 2 to 3 years,” said Day.

Without any additional costs, Qwestcom is also able to add any number of user licenses allowing everyone at the company access. According to Dave Krause, Production Manager at Qwestcom Graphics, “As a small family-owned business, we have many people that wear different hats throughout the day. Prinect Production Manager allows all employees to use the workflow from multiple stations improving our productivity and efficiency.”

Reliable and Valuable Partner
Qwestcom’s Prinect Production Manager works alongside a Suprasetter A 52, Quickmaster QM 46-2, Speedmaster SM 74-5+L, POLAR Cutter 78, and POLAR Cutter 92. As a complete Heidelberg shop, Qwestcom has trusted Heidelberg with their equipment since their first purchase in 2004.

According to Day, “We don’t look anywhere else because we trust Heidelberg and their equipment. We plan to continue working with Heidelberg in the future because they are a reliable and valuable partner for us.”
