TLMI Adds Sustainability/Recycling Networking Luncheon to Converter Meeting Program

Press release from the issuing company

Milford, Ohio – TLMI announces the addition of a Networking Luncheon to the association’s program at the upcoming Converter Meeting March 10-13 in Asheville, NC. Presenting at the luncheon will be Wendy Nadan, founding Principal of Nadan Consulting. Wendy has spent the past two decades in the printing and packaging markets as an environmental, health and safety consultant. For the past eight years, Wendy has been the Lead Sustainability Auditor with the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). TLMI’s L.I.F.E Program merged with SGP’s Certification Program last year.

During the Networking Luncheon, Wendy will take converters through the SGP sustainability certification process and ways TLMI members can benefit from becoming certified. SGP Environmental Certification is unique in that it is tailored to meet the requirements of printers and converters across the printed packaging industry. Working directly with over 60 SGP-certified printing facilities, Wendy has observed a wide variety of industry best practices.

Rosalyn Bandy, TLMI’s Director of Environmental Strategies and Outreach, comments, “I’m thrilled that Wendy Nadan will be part of our Converter Meeting program in March. Never before have TLMI members had the chance to speak directly to an environmental auditor at an association event, and Wendy’s vast experience in the industry, and specifically within packaging sustainability, gives attending companies the unique opportunity to hear from a leading thought expert who is at the forefront of certification and the benefits companies reap from becoming certified.”

Directly following Wendy’s presentation and Q&A session at the Networking Luncheon, TLMI President, Dan Muenzer, will be taking attendees through some new developments in PET liner recycling. PET has traditionally been the most challenging liner material to recycle and Dan will be taking attendees through new developments in PET liner recyclability in addition to a pilot program TLMI is currently spearheading in developing solutions for BOPP matrix recycling.
