Nicole A. Kaplan Joins MPA as Vice President of Marketing & Promotion

NEW YORK, NY (July 10, 2002) - Nicole A. Kaplan has joined Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) as Vice President, Marketing & Promotion, it was announced today by Diane Frank, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Promotion. Ms. Kaplan had been a consultant to Fathom Communications (a division of DDB) since January 2002. She reports to Ms. Frank. "Ms. Kaplan's extensive experience on both the advertising and association sides of the business will be a terrific asset to the marketing and promotion team here at MPA as well as to the magazine industry," said Ms. Frank. "We look forward to her contributions." In her position, Ms. Kaplan will work with the MPA in promoting and marketing magazines to a variety of constituencies, including the advertising and media communities, among others. In addition, she will be involved in the marketing and promotion of MPA activities and events. Prior to working with Fathom, Ms. Kaplan was: VP, Management Supervisor for Virgin Atlantic Airways at CMG from 2000-2001; VP Account Supervisor for Lucent Technologies at McCann Erickson from 1998-2000; Account Supervisor for CIGNA HealthCare from 1996-1998 and Account Executive for Mobil Corporation from 1994-1996 at DDB Needham Worldwide; and Manager of Creative Services and Communications for the Outdoor Advertising Association from 1991-1994. Ms. Kaplan was graduated from the University of Rochester with a BA in English and Certificate of Management Studies in Marketing in conjunction with the William E. Simon School of Business. She resides in Manhattan.
