Surrey-Based 4-Print Step Up Short-Run Production Following Investment in Vivid Matrix and Magnum Systems

Press release from the issuing company

Surrey based printers, 4-Print, one of the region’s leading print specialists recently invested in two Vivid print finishing systems to complement their new digital press.

Established in 1982, 4-Print, with a long-standing reputation for high quality litho work and outstanding customer service, decided to expand into the growing digital market. Having invested in a state-of-the-art digital press it immediately became apparent that the next day laminating service and cylinder cutting and creasing, currently used for litho, just wouldn’t be adequate for the faster production expectations of a digital print buyer. A faster and more efficient alternative needed to be sourced.

Following significant research 4-Print selected Vivid Laminating Technologies to supply two systems: A Matrix 530 Duplex Laminator with Omniflow deep pile feeder to cope with banner sheets of 700mm and a Magnum MC-35A for creasing and perforating.

Nigel Fountain, Managing Director of 4-Print commented “Whilst researching a suitable supplier Vivid was a name that kept coming up, they seemed to be well-respected with positive feedback from current users. Certainly, in our dealings with them I can say that they are a pleasure to deal with. The installation was seamless with Vivid technicians on hand for questions in the early days. It is a joy to work with Sophie Evans who has the answer to any question and a huge passion for the products.”

When asked what specifically they liked about the Vivid systems Fountain added “We were attracted to both pieces of equipment because of the fast set-up times and ease of use. Both items made an instant impact on production. Same day laminating enabled us to meet deadlines never achievable before. The perforating and creasing for short run work perfectly and complemented our existing set up. Our short run production has gone up significantly, everything from business cards to folders and multi-page brochures.”
