Merrill Introduces New Web-Based Info Management System for Lawyers

Press release from the issuing company

ST. PAUL, MN - Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com ), a global diversified communications and document services provider, announced today that its Document Management Services (DMS) business has introduced UR-Law 2.0, a true browser-based information management system that allows attorneys to access their entire discovery database at any time and from any location. The new product, which was based on seven years of litigation software development by the Merrill team, essentially can be used either in a client/server or browser-based application. As a browser-based application, the user-friendly UR-Law 2.0 requires no additional software installation and is accessible with nothing more than an Internet connection and a Web browser. "This breakthrough product delivers a 'best-in-class' solution to the challenge of searching, sorting, organizing and analyzing the wide range of information that resides in a discovery database," said Al McNee, president of St. Paul, Minn.-based Merrill's DMS business. "UR-Law 2.0 places this entire process on the Internet, enabling legal professionals to securely access the database from any location and to collaborate on various documents with their colleagues in other locations around the world." According to McNee, UR-Law is capable of searching millions of pages in seconds. The product locates critical case documents and images, and allows users to mark-up and highlight images so that ideas can be shared with others accessing the same files. UR-Law is powered by Oracle*, the most robust database software in the world, which is relied upon by the majority of the Fortune 500 corporations, making UR-Law 2.0 the standard for highly robust software with unlimited scalability.
