Schreiner ProTech Introduces Globally Usable RFID Label for Metal Applications

Press release from the issuing company

Readable on all worldwide frequencies, the new ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global Label features an integrated, dual-band antenna for reading both ETSI and FCC.

Blauvelt, N.Y. – Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits for engineering-based industries, has solved a challenge posed by globalization with its new ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global Label. The solution has an integrated, dual-band antenna capable of reading both of the world’s most prominent frequency bands: ETSI and FCC.

The newest launch from Schreiner ProTech’s “RFID on Metal” family of label solutions, the label ensures reliable RFID readability on all metallic substrates in relevant markets worldwide.

In RFID technology, two different frequency bands are used globally: ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) in Europe and FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in America and Asia. Consequently, if a component is exported to several regions it requires differing RFID labels. The new ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global Label offers an efficient, cost-effective solution that covers both frequency ranges.

Like all “RFID on Metal” labels, the new ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global label guarantees reliable readability on metal components, containers and transport items via specialized shielding materials. The 50x40mm RFID-Label is only 1.7mm thick and has a read range of up to three meters; in the longer-range version, the read range is as far as six meters.

The easy to apply ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global label is a viable alternative to hard tags, can be custom-printed and programmed onsite, and is automatically dispensed off the roll. It is ideally suited for use in process automation and logistics applications.

The innovative ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global label with a dual-band antenna enables equal readability in the ETSI and FCC frequency bands which makes it suitable for worldwide use.
