Xerox Wins $4 Million Contract with U.S. Army Reserve

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced it will provide integrated printing solutions to the 88th Regional Support Command of the U.S. Army Reserve, moving the organization from desktop printing to high-speed, high-quality networked Document Centre digital copier/printers. The five-year, $4 million agreement will replace analog machines from competitors with new Xerox digital hardware and software solutions that can manage and simplify the complexities of networked printing environments. The contract includes Xerox support and service; PrintXchange software, which helps manage print jobs across the network; and more than 200 Document Centre digital multifunction systems. "The upgrade to Document Centre machines puts us at the leading edge of office print and copy technology within the Armed Forces," said Randall Ciechna, chief information officer of the 88th Regional Support Command. The 88th Regional Support Command is made up of reservists from six states -Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio - and exercises command and control of assigned units, ensures operational readiness, provides area support services, and supports emergency operations. Reservists will use the Document Centres for producing inventory reports and personnel rosters. By switching from myriad desktop printers to centralized network equipment, the Regional Support Command also will be able to better manage and reduce their printing and copying costs.
